HONOLULU (KHON2) — A stable and breezy trade wind flow continues, driven by strong high pressure 800 to 900 miles north. A narrow band of showers is causing modest showers over windward areas this evening, with scattered showers on the South Kona slopes. Rainfall is expected to decrease later tonight as a dry air slot moves in.

Winds will briefly increase on Friday as the high to the north strengthens slightly, potentially causing borderline Wind Advisory conditions in typically windy areas like the Maui Central Valley, parts of west Maui, the Kohala Districts, the Humuula Saddle, Kau, and parts of the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
