City of Burnsville Announces Exciting Summer Events: Pop-Up Party in the Park & Flicks on the Bricks

BURNSVILLE, MINNESOTA – The City of Burnsville is gearing up for a summer filled with fun and entertainment, offering residents two engaging series: “Pop Up Party in the Park” and “Flicks on the Bricks.” Both events are free and open to all ages, providing a great way to enjoy the city’s parks and community spirit.

Pop-Up Party in the Park:

Every Friday morning in June, from 10 a.m. to noon, recreation leaders will host themed games and activities at various parks. Attendees should bring tennis shoes and a water bottle, as equipment and supplies will be provided. This drop-in program does not require check-in or check-out, so parents and guardians are encouraged to stay during the events.

  • June 21: Everything Basketball
    • Location: Red Oak Park, 12100 River Hills Dr.
    • Participate in basketball drills, mini-games, and friendly competitions.
  • June 28: Everything Nature
    • Location: Wood Park, 701 E 143rd St.
    • Engage in nature-themed activities such as scavenger hunts and crafts.

Flicks on the Bricks:

Join your neighbors for movie nights under the stars at Nicollet Commons Park, 12550 Nicollet Ave. Bring a blanket or lawn chair. Seating starts at 7:30 p.m., and movies begin at dusk.

  • June 21: “Grease” (PG)
  • July 26: “Wonka” (PG)
  • August 9: “Jurassic Park” (PG-13)
