Louis J. Reetz III

Louis J. Reetz III, 74, passed away at his home in Sand Creek, Wisconsin on Monday, Aug. 12, 2024.  He was born on March 16, 1950, in Chippewa Falls, to Louis II and Esther (Olson) Reetz. Louis attended Bloomer High School and graduated in 1968.  In 1972, he married classmate, Pamela Werner.  They made their home in Sand Creek, where they raised two amazing daughters, Tracey and Stephanie.  They divorced in 1997.

Louis was the owner/operator of the Sand Creek Home Store from 1973-1995. Later, he worked for Cardinal FG in Menomonie for almost 20 years. Those living in Sand Creek from 1973 to the present, knew Louis as a jokester, a helping hand, a daily attendee for coffee and the shake-of-the-day.  He was someone that would go the extra mile for people at the drop of a hat. Despite his gruff voice, Louis was a true teddy bear and cared deeply about the residents of Sand Creek, his friends, and most importantly, his family.

Louis was a member of the volunteer fire department and enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, especially cribbage, dabbling in the Wisconsin Lottery, and all the Sand Creek Community gatherings.  …
