Youngstown schools to use speed cameras again

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Speed cameras will be back on and running again when classes begin for Youngstown City Schools on Sept. 4.

Last year, the cameras were turned off as the city discovered how people who were issued citations could contest them in court.

Youngstown Law Director Lori Shells Simmons said a magistrate in municipal court will hear cases at night. To help pay the court cost, the money collected from the cameras will be split between the court, the city and the company supplying the cameras…
