ELIZABETH, NJ – Revolutionary War veteran Marquis de Lafayette is returning to Elizabeth on September 23, 200 years after the French founding father of the United States started his “GrandFarewell Tour.”
A reenactor provided by the American Friends of Lafayette will be visiting Elizabeth for two events, with one at Belcher Ogden Mansion on 1046 E Jersey St., from 3 to 4 p.m., and at Boxwood Hall State Historic Site on 1073 E Jersey St. from 4 to 6 p.m.
Both events are free and open to the public. The American Friends of Lafayette says registration in advance is required for Boxwood Hall due to capacity limitations. To register, click here …
