Chiefs-Bears LIVE updates: Bears lead 10-7 in the second quarter

On Thursday night, neither the Kansas City Chiefs or Chicago Bears chose to depend on their starters in each team’s final preseason game — but the Chicago backups had a clear edge over Kansas City’s as they recorded a 34-21 road victory on GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

First quarter

Harrison Butker sent the opening kickoff the goal line. DeAndre Carter returned the ball to the Chicago 27-yard line to begin the drive. Behind backup quarterback Tyson Bagent, the Bears quickly went deep into Chiefs territory with a 44-yard pass to wideout Nisimba Webster. The Chiefs appeared to have stalled the drive with a crushing sack on Bagent, but a holding call on cornerback Kelvin Joseph kept the Bears drive alive. Bagent rushed for an opening drive touchdown two plays later, and former Chief Cairo Santos was true on the extra point to open a 7-0 lead for the Bears…
