Reps. McKay and Sumner withdrawal from respective races

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Seeing stiff competition from members of their own party, Rep. Tom McKay, R- Anchorage, and Rep. Jesse Sumner, R- Wasilla, are joining U.S. House Republican candidate Lt. Gov. Nancy Dahlstrom in withdrawing from their respective races.

Incumbent House District 28 candidate Sumner announced he is stepping away from the race to spend more time with family.

“We have three young sons that miss me when I’m gone,” Sumner said in a statement. “I have a ten-month-old daughter that I would like to be around to see, learn to walk and talk, and I would like to get to know my older daughter.”…
