11th annual Philly 10k shuts down streets, but opens new pathways for thousands of runners

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Philly 10k had its 11th run on Sunday morning. Thousands of runners from near and far taking part in one of the city’s fastest-growing runs were rewarded with some uncommon views of the city.

“I am a nervous wreck,” said Anesha Bonelli. “This is the first race ever that I have ever participated in.”

Bonelli says the run highlights a turning point in her life: “This year, I made a crazy change fitness wise. I was always the kid that was overweight. I was never into fitness or working out. I hated running.”

After training for the past two months, she said, she was looking forward to experiencing the course in a new way…
