14-year-old killed, another teen injured in crash following police pursuit in Frankfort

FRANKFORT, Ind. — Indiana State Police are investigating after one 14-year-old was killed and another was injured in a crash following a pursuit with Frankfort police officers in Clinton County early Tuesday morning.

The Frankfort Police Department Police Chief Scott Shoemaker confirmed that he has asked Indiana State Police to investigate the incident “to be fully transparent on the cause and manner of the crash.”

Shoemaker said officers received a 911 call around 2:32 a.m. reporting that a vehicle was seen allegedly driving on a curb, a sidewalk and “appeared to side-swipe a vehicle” as reports of reckless driving in the area of Hoke and Washington Avenue flooded into the Clinton County Central Dispatch…
