Montgomery PTA members react to superintendent’s resignation

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – A day after the Montgomery County Board of Education approved the superintendent’s resignation, local Parent Teacher Association members shared their perspectives on the matter.

Beverly Williams is president of the Montgomery County PTA and secretary of JAG High School’s PTA while also teaching English at JAG. She says students deserve a school system that’s focused on their futures.

“This is not a time to bicker and become divided, but this is a great opportunity for us to rally together and move forward,” Williams said. “Our children are watching us. They’re watching the posts that we make. They’re listening to the comments that we make, and so they’re paying attention and they’re taking notes and they’re going to follow suit.”…
