LILLINGTON, N.C. (WNCN) — A Division of Motor Vehicles driver license office in Harnett County will be closed “until further notice”, beginning next week.
On Wednesday, the North Carolina Department of Transportation announced the Lillington DMV would be closing due to a staff shortage. Prior to the closure, the Lillington DMV was accepting only walk-in customers with no appointments. The closure will take effect next Monday, Sept. 23, and a reopening date has not been announced.
The Lillington DMV is at least the third office to close in central North Carolina in the last month as a result of staffing shortages. Offices in Raeford and Laurinburg are also closed “until further notice”…
