Shallow Ford Foundation announces new chief operating officer

CLEMMONS — Emmy Corn has joined the Shallow Ford Foundation as chief operations officer, the organization announced in a recent release.

Corn has served on the foundation’s board of directors as well as with various grant, scholarship and initiative committees for the past several years. She said she feels like she has been called to serve in the new role.

“The foundation has been blessed with wonderful growth in the number of programs that serve organizations and residents throughout our area. Our capacity reached a point of needing more help, both in day-to-day operations and with our programs. We could not be more excited about working with Emmy. She brings every skill set we could hope for in this new key position, along with a shared passion for our work and a strong value for community.
