COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVG) – A state lawmaker who suffered from lead poisoning is out with a new proposal to require Ohio to replace every lead line in the state within the next 15 years.
State Rep. Dontavius Jarrels, a Democrat from Columbus, introduced the proposal this week that also includes provisions to ensure low- and moderate-income families won’t be burdened by the cost of replacing their lead lines.
