Former Savannah State star Ezinne Kalu headed to Atlanta Dream

SAVANNAH, Ga. — Savannah State University continues to build on its motto, “You can get anywhere from here.”

Former Savannah State basketball star Ezinne Kalu is headed to the WNBA. Wednesday evening, the Atlanta Dream announced they signed Kalu to a seven-day hardship contract.

With one more day left of the WNBA regular season, the Dream is fighting for a playoff spot shorthanded. The team is currently without Cheyenne Parker-Tyus and Aerial Powers due to injuries. With two players out, they were able to add another player on a hardship contract. Both Parker-Tyus and Powers have been ruled out for the remainder of the regular season, meaning they will miss the team’s season finale on Thursday against the New York Liberty…
