OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WLOX) – The highly-anticipated Mississippi Songwriters Festival kicks off Thursday and lasts through Sunday- bringing more than 100 talented Mississippi artists together on the Coast.
From a hall of fame induction ceremony to workshops and dozens of free live performances, the four-day event appeals to both the musician and the music enthusiast.
Thursday, the festival kicks off at the Mary C. Cultural Arts Center in Ocean Springs, where a new wave of artists will be inducted into the Mississippi Songwriters Hall of Fame. This year’s inductees are Howlin Wolf, Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters and Glen Ballard. Admission is free, but the event is sold out as of Thursday afternoon…
