Sacramento sheriff’s airplane makes emergency landing in field near West Sacramento, officials say

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A Sacramento sheriff’s airplane made an emergency landing Thursday morning in a field near West Sacramento, the sheriff’s office said. There were no injuries.

Emergency medical services were dispatched around 8:12 a.m. to Lake Washington Boulevard and Village Parkway.

The single-engine Cessna C206, used for transposition and surveillance, departed Sacramento Mather Airport and headed to Watts-Woodland Airport for a routine oil change at a mechanic shop. While mid-flight the pilot, who was the only person on board, had to make an emergency landing in the Yolo County field due to engine failure, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said…
