Retired Couple Uncovers Suspect’s Body in Kentucky Shooting
Days after a shooter terrorized Interstate 75 in Kentucky, a retired couple, Fred and Sheila McCoy, discovered the suspected gunman’s remains during a search of rugged terrain.
Suspect Identified
Kentucky State Police believe the body belongs to Joseph Couch, 32, who allegedly fired randomly at vehicles on the highway, injuring five people. Couch’s body showed evidence of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Extensive Search
Local, state, and federal agencies had searched thousands of acres since the shooting, but the McCoys’ discovery ended the manhunt. Their efforts earned them a $25,000 reward from the state police.
