Lacrosse coach now leads foe that tormented her: West Genesee’s board of education approved Jessica Lavelle as the next head coach of the Wildcats on Wednesday night. She now leads a powerhouse program that built its legacy in part by frustrating Fayetteville-Manlius teams on which Lavelle starred from 2009-10. West Genesee beat almost everybody in those days, but F-M losses were especially grinding because the Hornets often came oh-so-close to usurping the Wildcats as section champ.
Westcott grocery store broken into again by group of kids, police say; many neighborhood businesses targeted: On Thursday morning – for the second time this week – Gaurav Singh, the owner of Westcott Grocery, had to wake up and learn his store was broken into. What makes it worse is he believes it’s the same group of kids breaking into various businesses in the Westcott area. Walking along Westcott Street, boards can be seen covering broken windows at Westcott Grocery, Yeti Frozen Yogurt & Cafe, Rise N Shine Diner and Mom’s Diner due to the break-ins.
