Panther men fall to Methodist at home

A late push wasn’t enough for the Ferrum College’s men’s soccer team, which came up short 2-1 against Methodist University on Wednesday night in a non-conference match at Penn-Roediger Field.

Methodist possessed the ball early and often, allowing for a strong offensive attack. Six unsuccessful shots were taken by the Monarchs within the first eleven minutes — two of which were blocked, while two others were saved by Ferrum goalkeeper M.J. Upchurch.

Sophomore midfielder Josh Mott claimed the first goal for Methodist at the 11:35 mark of the game and the team maintained a 1-0 lead throughout the rest of the first half…
