Utah vs Oklahoma State Prediction, Game Preview, and Betting Lines

Is this it? Is this really a preview of the Big 12 Championship? Oklahoma State still has to deal with Kansas State on the road – that’s coming up next week – but after that it’s not all that bad. Utah doesn’t have to deal with Kansas State, but it has to go on the road for a few nasty games, and hosts Arizona, Iowa, State, and other tough teams, but this is really it. Beat this terrific Oklahoma State team in Stillwater, and the Utes have the inside track to get to the conference title game. It’s the second meeting between the two. The first was a 46-6 Oklahoma State victory in 1945.

Why Utah Will Win

The Utes should have their guy. QB Cameron Rising should be back from a hand injury, and even if he’s not the offense should still be okay. Not quite as dynamic as it should be, but okay. Oklahoma State got thrown on by the Arkansas offense given up 416 yards, but the Utes don’t have to crank up a ton of big plays down the field. As long as Rising – or freshman Isaac Wilson – can keep the chains moving, all will be fine.

The Hogs were able to bottle up OSU star RB Ollie Gordon, and Utah’s great defensive front isn’t likely to get pushed around for more than 150 rushing yards. As long as the offense can keep controlling the clock or close to 35 minutes, and if the third down plays are there against a Cowboy D that’s giving those up at a 40% click …
