The SF Giants are slumping to another disappointing finish to the season. If they expect different results next year, they will need to make a drastic overhaul to the roster this winter.

The SF Giants need a major roster overhaul for 2025

It is just not working with this group and it is time to move on. That may be easier said than done. The Giants only have a few players reaching free agency including Blake Snell, Michael Conforto, and Mark Canha. Of the three, Snell is the only one that makes sense to bring back.

On the other hand, they have several players who are arbitration-eligible this winter. This includes Mike Yastrzemski, LaMonte Wade Jr., Tyler Rogers, and Camilo Doval. There is a case to be made to bring back each player, but that will not inspire much confidence.

Where do the Giants even start at this point? The pitching, lineup, and defense have all slumped throughout this season. Perhaps, the one area where there has been a modest improvement is on the bases. The Giants have swiped 66 bases this season compared to 57 steals last year…
