An Indian national has been indicted following a dramatic car chase in Bakersfield that led to the discovery of a substantial quantity of methamphetamine. Darmanjot Singh, 29, of Ontario, California, faces allegations of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, as disclosed in a recent announcement by U.S. Attorney Phillip A. Talbert.

The indictment issued by the federal grand jury specifies a single count against Singh. Per court documents obtained from the Department of Justice, the indictment follows an incident wherein Singh reportedly fled from law enforcement at high speeds until he crashed his vehicle. The aftermath of the crash led to the unearthing of approximately 5 pounds of methamphetamine, divided across two packages located within the wrecked car.
