Clarksville Parks and Recreation gets grant to offer Tai Chi for Arthritis

CLARKSVILLE, TN − Clarksville Parks and Recreation is excited to announce a new program aimed at improving health and wellness in the community: Tai Chi for Arthritis. This low-impact exercise class is designed for individuals of all ages, with a special focus on adults managing arthritis and other chronic conditions.

Thanks to a generous grant from the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), with funding support from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Clarksville Parks and Recreation is one of 35 park and recreation agencies nationwide to receive the SHAPR 3.0 award.

Through this grant, the department will offer the Tai Chi for Arthritis program, providing Clarksville residents an opportunity to engage in physical activity that has been proven to reduce pain, improve quality of life, and help prevent falls…
