MANTECA, Calif. — A 26-year-old man from Ceres died, an 11-month-old was taken to a hospital by air ambulance with major injuries, and four others were hurt in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 132 west of Modesto on Saturday, the California Highway Patrol said.
The crash was reported east of South River Road near Vernalis just before 1 p.m.
According to CHP’s preliminary investigation, the 26-year-old driver of a Honda sedan was driving eastbound on the highway and for an unknown reason partially crossed over double yellow lines, CHP said.
