Raleigh crash knocks down power pole, tree limb, closing part of Glenwood Ave.

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A Raleigh crash that took down a power pole and tree limb closed outbound Glenwood Avenue near Five Points for more than two hours Saturday, police said.

The wreck happened just after 5 p.m. along the northbound lanes of U.S. 70/Glenwood Avenue near Alexander Road, just north of the Five Points intersection, according to the Raleigh Police Department.

A passing truck clipped a power pole, which then snapped into two pieces, police said. On the way down, part of the pole hit a large tree branch and knocked it down onto the road, officials said…
