On New Year’s Eve, 14-year-old Will Scallon crashed his dirt bike into a tree and died.
His effect on the Queen Creek community was immediately clear. The teen’s friends still gather around the site where the football player died; a few have slept there. They come together once a month at the Scallons’ home to play games and talk about their lost friend. Some hang out in his room.
