The San Marcos Royals and Santa Barbara High Dons raced in the Ojai Invitational on Saturday morning at Lake Casitas, with plenty of local runners earning strong finishes.

The Royals’ boys team ran well as a team as Gage Minne led the way in 10th place with a time of 16:26.
Following Minne were Ben Callanan (11th), Logan Deakyne (13th), Ashton Johnsen (19th) and Miles Detinger (28th).
“The boys ran controlled with good effort throughout,” San Marcos coach Marilyn Hantgin said. “We have not run this course for a few years, so it was great to see them compete. It was a good learning day for our first league meet in a few weeks.”…
