HOLLAND — A local man has big plans for a plot of land at 648 Hastings Ave. in Holland, where he hopes to turn his passion for horticulture into an urban garden.
Bruce Eckert presented the concept to the Holland Planning Commission in mid-September. The plan includes native prairie grasses, native wildflowers, an approximately 5,500-square-foot garden, fruit trees and two structures — a small shed and a greenhouse.
Eventually, he’d like to establish an organic vegetable garden, too…
