Shocker? More than half of Staten Islanders tell survey they’ll never buy electric vehicle.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — New York is throwing itself into the future of energy.

For those who don’t know, the state created a goal for itself to make “all sales or leases of new light-duty passenger vehicles” zero emission vehicles (ZEVs) by 2035. The state will have an extra decade to make “all sales or leases of new medium- and heavy-duty vehicles,” according to the U.S. Department of Energy.

However, Staten Islanders don’t appear to be too quick to buy electric vehicles. And most say they never will…
