Luke Allen, a senior at Kettle Run High School and member of Boy Scout Troop 1882, has successfully completed a project at Auburn Middle School as part of his effort to earn the rank of Eagle Scout.
Allen’s project involved designing and installing a new set of concrete stairs over the median in the staff and visitor parking lot to improve pedestrian safety, enhance convenience for school staff and reduce maintenance concerns.
After conducting research and site visits beginning in March, Allen approached the Fauquier County School Board’s Building Committee with his proposal in May, presenting his approach to the project through four main phases: fundraising, material acquisition, recruiting volunteers and project execution.…
