Reminder: Land’s Sake Pie Fest Today – September 22

Happy Autumn Equinox, Weston! You are henceforth invited and encouraged to wear your flannel shirts, buy your pumpkins and mums, and put corn stalks on all of your outdoor lamps. Indoor too, if you wish. I’m going to skip those because it turns out that our vicious former feral Miami street cat, Bobby Sweetface, is a grazer of all inside natural arrangements. Last week he be-headed all of the zinnias I had brought in from the garden and was taste-testing the mums. I spend a lot of time on google search: “Is [insert flower/plant/dried plant] poisonous to cats?” Zinnias = no, and Mums = yes is what I’ve found out. No poinsetta is ever in the house. Sigh. Next season.

Speaking of taste-testing, Land’s Sake’s Harvest Festival concludes today with the Pie Fest! Technically the event’s online ticket sales are closed but there are a limited number available on site and therefore you should go. I think we’re done with drenching rain as that was reserved for the soccer game yesterday in 54 degrees and biting wind in Mendon. Because….New England. Even if a shower should pop up, there is a ginormous tent. People, there are cider donuts. I live for cider donuts…
