More than a thousand runners in Boca Raton raise money for Florida’s wounded veterans

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — More than a thousand runners laced up their shoes and ran or walked for Florida’s wounded veterans as part of the ninth annual Devil Dog 5k and 10K run and walk.

The event was held at South County Regional Park in Boca Raton Sunday morning and all the money raised goes to the Wounded Veterans Relief Fund, which helps Florida’s veterans with emergency financial assistance and critical dental care.

“(The Devil Dog 5K/10K is) an amazing opportunity to bring the community together to do something healthy, you can run, walk, bring your dog, bring your kids and bring your family,” said Wade Waddick, the organizer of the event and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. “We just want everyone out here supporting and showing our support for our Florida wounded veterans.”…
