Eagles Face Defensive Challenge Against Saints

The Philadelphia Eagles will probably have the biggest test of the season so far, as they face the New Orleans Saints. Coming off a tough loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2, there’s still a big bounce-back game at hand. But there’s even a bigger looming issue: some defense starters may miss time. Starting safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson is questionable to suit up because of a foot injury. That would add concern in that the Eagles wouldn’t be nearly as successful against a high-scoring Saints team that no one expected to see coming this season.

Several things to note by looking at the match-up. First, and most obviously, the Eagles must find a way to stop the Saints’ explosive offense. New Orleans Saints has been scoring like there is no tomorrow for all of last season, leading scoring after two games. The Eagle’s defense must tighten up their game plan and pressure the quarterback of the Saints, too; that would hurt them.
