Girl Scout’s Camp Timber Ridge Celebrates 100 Years

MABLETON — The Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta’s Camp Timber Ridge celebrated its 100th birthday Saturday with the help of Mableton Mayor Michael Owens and other members of city council.

To commemorate the milestone, Owens gave an official proclamation for the camp and declared September 21 a city-wide holiday known as “Camp Timber Ridge Day.”

“People know Girl Scouts around the world, and to think that we have a 100-year old camp right here in Mableton is truly special,” Owens said. “It truly speaks to the dedication … and the magic that is here. … Hopefully Mableton will continue to be a home for many more Girl Scouts to come camping for decades to come.”…
