Mavericks’ blatant robbery of the Kings keeps getting worse

The Dallas Mavericks endured 21 years of success with Dirk Nowitzki, as he led the team to their first NBA Championship in 2011. Right before his departure, the Mavs were beginning to look for his replacement. Dallas needed a foundational piece to come in and continue the success Nowitzki implanted.

The Mavericks found their answer in the 2019 NBA Draft when the team traded their first-round pick to move up in the draft to the No. 3 spot. Dallas traded their No. 5 pick, who ended up being Trae Young, and a protected 2019 first-round pick to acquire the third pick to take Luka Doncic. This trade will go down in team history, as Luka has been everything the Mavs could ever ask for.

In six seasons, Doncic has made the NBA All-Star Team five times and been selected to the All-NBA First Team five times. Last season, he also won his first NBA scoring title, leading the league with 33.9 points per game.
