Crusaders Sweep Brunswick Collegiate Open; Kaczynski and Woods Finish 1-2

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Belmont Abbey swept the varsity and junior varsity competitions Sunday — with Crusaders placing first and second — at the DO Apparel-Brunswick Collegiate Open in Columbus, Ohio. Mark Kaczynski, playing with JV1, took first place overall with 2026 pins over nine games (a 225.1 average), while varsity team member Jordan Woods was second just 15 pins behind.

As a team, the varsity held on to its first day lead, finishing with 9467 pins — 584 ahead of runner-up St. Vincent. The junior varsity #1 team won that division, overtaking first-day leader Muskingum, with 8970 pins. The junior varsity #2 team was second, 239 pins back at 8731.

Woods and Kaczynski were named tournament Most Valuable Players in their respective divisions. Connor Breaman (varsity), Sean Neidhold (junior varsity) and Cole Cook (junior varsity) were also on the all-tournament teams…
