Ole Miss holds a dominating lead after two rounds at the Mary Fossum Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Led by the record-breaking performance from Caitlyn Macnab, Ole Miss women’s golf holds a dominating 11-stroke lead after two rounds at the Mary Fossum Invitational after shooting 13-under on Sunday. The Rebels opened up the morning with their best showing this season, tallying a first round scorecard of 274 (-14). Directly after, Ole Miss went 1-over in the second round to bring its total score of the day to 563 (-13). The Rebels were an unstoppable force at the Forest Akers Golf Course, ranking first in par-4 scoring (-5), par-5 scoring (-7), and birdies (39).

Macnab continues to etch her name into the record books after shooting a flawless first round that included seven birdies and one eagle. Her career-high 18-hole score of 63 (-9) was a course-low, tournament-low and the second lowest round in program history.

Later that afternoon, the Johannesburg, South Africa, native tallied a second-round score of 73 (+1) to bring her to 8-under on the day and secure her the spot as the sole leader with a 3-stroke lead heading into the final round.
