Men’s Tennis Competes At Haverford/Swarthmore Invitational

Haverford/Swarthmore, Pa, – The Stevens Institute of Technology men’s tennis team competed at the Haverford/Swarthmore Invitational that concluded on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Ducks tallied three doubles victories against Haverford on Sunday. The duo of Olof Persson and Vivek Harinarayan was strong at the top of the doubles lineup, downing their opponents 8-5. Newcomers Aidan Miller and Mihir Parcha turned in an 8-1 performance before Dhaivik Chenemilla and Johnny Haase were victorious in an 8-7 (8) triumph.

In singles play, three matches were sent to the tie-breaking third set. Max-William Kanz fell 6-4 in the first before battling back with a 7-6 (5) win in the second frame. He ended up falling 10-8 in the third. Miller also dropped the first set 6-3 in his match before storming back with a 6-1 triumph. The newcomer was bested 10-6 in the third stanza. Persson was victorious in the his opening frame, winning 6-4 but dropped the second 6-2. He was clipped 10-6 to close out the event.
