BCSO releases more information on stolen truck chase

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – The Bay County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a Tennessee man Sunday following a chase that ended on the Bailey Bridge between Southport and Lynn Haven.

BCSO authorities said on Sunday afternoon, a deputy was in the Southport area heading home when he saw a truck that had been reported stolen out of Tennessee heading south down Highway 77 near White Oaks Boulevard. The deputy reportedly tried to pull the truck over but it did not stop, then leading deputies on a chase with speeds that reportedly reached up to 90 miles per hour.

Officials said spike strips were successfully deployed, and the truck slowed to around 35 mph on the Bailey Bridge with three rims and one flat tire. They said deputies then performed a PIT maneuver on the Bailey Bridge before the suspect had a chance to make it into Lynn Haven…
