BARTON ROUNDUP: Bulldogs blank Erskine for 4-0 start

Barton College’s men’s soccer team won its fourth straight match to start the season with a 3-0 shutout of Erskine College in an NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas match Saturday, Sept. 14, at Truist Stadium.

The Bulldogs, now 2-0 in conference matches, got the winning goal in the 18th minute when sophomore forward Andrew Herman sent a ball into the net after a pass into the box from senior midfielder Gabriel Slemer Lopes.

Junior forward Blake Grove scored the next two goals for Barton while Slemer Lopes added another assist on Grove’s first goal that came off Slemer Lopes’ header with 22 seconds left in the half. Sophomore midfielder Dan Ivanov also got credit for the assist on the goal…
