Police dog tracks down, rescues 3-year-old who was lost in a Michigan corn maze

ERIE TOWNSHIP, MI — A K9 officer with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department tracked down a missing toddler earlier this month after the boy got lost in a corn maze. According to WXYZ-Detroit, the K9 deputy, named Bane and his partner MCSO Deputy Jack Hall were dispatched to Erie Orchard on Sept. 3 for a report of a missing boy.

Despite the boy being lost in the massive maze, Bane was able to track the toddler more than a quarter of a mile away after the boy’s family gave Bane a “starting article” to sniff. Using a bathing suit the boy wore earlier in the day, Bane picked up the scent and bolted into the maze.

Three minutes later, Bane had found the boy and police were able to get to the child safely. The boy was reunited with his family and did not appear to suffer any injuries in the ordeal…
