New Seaport ice cream shop offering $1 scoops to celebrate grand opening

Summer may be over, but that doesn’t mean ice cream season has ended. Especially if the ice cream is only one dollar.

Ice cream brand Van Leeuwen is opening a scoops storefront in the Seaport on Thursday, the company announced. To celebrate, the store said it will offer $1 scoops of ice cream on opening day from 11 a.m until 1 p.m. Guests will also have the chance to meet founder Ben Van Leeuwen, according to a press release from the company.

In addition, guests will be able to try a limited-edition flavor, a collaboration by Van Leeuwen and Flour Bakery, the release said. The brand said the new Lemon Meringue Pie Flavor will have a toasted meringue ice cream base, with white chocolate pie crust and lemon curd mixed in…
