Greenville City Council considers allocating millions to fund new bridge on Swamp Rabbit Trail

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Greenville City Council is considering allocating millions of dollars to help fund a new pedestrian bridge on the Swamp Rabbit Trail over a busy boulevard.

Councilmember Dorothy Dowe said Monday that the council is expected to vote on setting aside $2.25 million in contributions from the South Carolina Department of Transportation for a bridge over Verdae Boulevard.

“That’s a beautiful road, very busy,” Dowe said. “We need to be going over it so as not to hinder traffic flow on Verdae and to protect the safety of the trail users.”…
