ROCK HIL, S.C. (WBTV) – More than two years after the Carolina Panthers’ plans to build a practice facility and headquarters collapsed and dissolved into a legal battle, the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office states there will be no criminal charges in the case.
The AG’s office announced its decision in a letter sent to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division on September 16, 2024. The letter states, “criminal charges are not warranted” and there was no criminal intent from “anyone involved in the failure of the project.”
York County and the City of Rock Hill awarded millions of dollars to Panthers owner David Tepper’s company GT Real Estate to build an $800 million modern, state-of-the-art practice facility and team headquarters in the area, but those plans were scrapped, and construction was halted in April 2022…
