Parkinson’s support group learns about the value of therapy services for speech and swallowing issues

“Only 14 percent of people living with Parkinson’s Disease use speech, physical or occupational therapy as part of their treatment plan during the course of their disease. Yet, therapy can play an important role in helping people address symptoms and improve quality of life.

Today, as an example, we’re going to discuss speech and swallowing challenges, which are common in PD and can interfere with important quality of life issues like enjoying favorite foods or participating in conversations with family and friends.”
