First Alert Weather Day | Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024

(WSAZ) – Tuesday is a First Alert Weather Day for rain and storms coming back to the region.

A lot of folks will start off the day rain-free (a few showers/rumbles will graze our Ohio counties this morning), but as we get into the day we’ll see the warmth and humidity build.

Rain and rumbles already cut a path through sections of northern Kentucky and our southern Ohio counties this morning, and a trailing line of storms is set to get a little stronger as the day wears on, especially where the air goes untapped and energy gets to build under peeks of sunshine. Though showers will be around in parts of the area for much of the day, it’s from the midday hours onward through evening that we’ll be watching for the development of thunderstorms that will channel rain and potentially bring gusty winds in a stronger cell. This is why today is a First Alert Weather Day, even though we sorely need the rain. Temperatures will stay in the 70s and 80s this afternoon, finally a non-factor on the day. Look for the activity to diminish overnight, but not to go away completely…
