Indiana Man Charged with Murder of Two Police Informants Found in Fort Wayne River

An Indiana man, Dominique Washington, has been charged with the murders of two police informants, whose bodies were discovered in Fort Wayne’s St. Marys River. The victims, identified as Matthew Johnson and Christina Dixon, had been working with the Richmond Police Department and were instrumental in a significant drug bust earlier this month. WTHR reported that Washington is facing preliminary charges of murder, kidnapping, and “failure to report discovery of body with intent to hinder investigation.”

According to investigators, on Sept. 19, Johnson and Dixon were lured into a vehicle by Washington and instructed to turn off their phones, as found in court documents. It was during a tragic drive that Washington allegedly switched cars, executing the pair, then discarding them into the river. This information was obtained from traffic cameras and cellphone records according to the police as per FOX59’s coverage of the crime.

Earlier, Johnson and Dixon had contributed to a successful drug raid on Sept. 10, which yielded a large seizure of narcotics. The suspect arrested in that raid is reportedly associated with Washington and is listed as a witness in court documents.
