Suspect wanted for double shooting, murder in Hope Mills turns himself in Monday night, deputies say

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. (WNCN) — A man wanted for the shooting of two people has turned himself into deputies Monday night, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said Douglas Ray Chavis II, 25 of Hope Mills, was charged with the first-degree murder of 30-year-old Nikki Dwayne Savage, also of Hope Mills, who died at the scene of the shooting Monday afternoon in the Gray’s Creek area.

Chavis was processed on the murder warrant and is currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center with no bond given…
