Doctor’s clinic in Taylor, mansion in West Bloomfield raided in connection with alleged pill trafficking operation

TAYLOR (WWJ) — A Metro Detroit doctor is reportedly in custody after police raided his Wayne County clinic and West Bloomfield mansion on Tuesday morning in connection with an alleged pill trafficking operation.

A 78-year-old doctor is accused of falsifying records, writing false prescriptions and “flooding the streets with opioids,” according to a report from WDIV .

Tuesday’s arrest was the culmination of a four-year investigation by the Taylor Police Department that also included the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, according to the report.

Along with his mansion on Surria Court, police raided his clinic on Telegraph Road in Taylor, where the owner of neighboring businesses told WWJ Newsradio 950’s Darrylin Horne they saw the doctor being led out of the Phar Mor Pharmacy on Tuesday…
