Catawba Riversweep aims to be largest cleanup in the Southeast. Here’s how you can help.

The largest river cleanup in the Southeast is coming soon to the Catawba-Wateree River Basin.

The Catawba Riversweep will be held Oct. 5. Volunteers can choose from more than 50 cleanup sites at lake and river locations from the foothills of North Carolina to the midlands of South Carolina, according to a release from Catawba Riverkeeper.

At last year’s cleanup, 1,200 volunteers removed 46,745 pounds of trash from water along the Catawba River, the release said…
